Animal Kingdom GR Photos
About a week ago two other interns and myself got to work early to take photos around Animal Kingdom in our full plaid glory. Just thought I would share since this chapter of our lives is coming to a close. The other interns in the photos are also extending their internships until June. Mehlanie will be going to Magic Kingdom and Mark will be at Epcot. If you ever see them there be sure to say "Hello".

I just got accepted for GR at Animal Kingdom! Could you give me some insight on what the hours are like and how many you get a week?
ReplyDeleteYou are going to love it there! I wish I didn't have to leave. You will be working with a really great team. As you know DAK has the least operating hours of the 4 parks. I don't know your status but since I was an Intern I was guaranteed 32 hours per week. Most weeks I worked 40-45 hours. Some slower weeks I'd get scheduled 33-36. Once you are trained you can pick up shifts at other parks as well. The earliest shift I have worked was at 5:30 am and the latest out time was 11pm over the holidays on a 9 pm close.
DeleteI stumbled on your blog while trying to find out more information about visiting my sister in February. She is a CP and she was told that the only way I can go with her to the parks is if she is with me all the time...apparently they don't actually give tickets anymore but wristbands? Is that true? I just want to make sure that we have the right information before I go out and visit. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteShe is confused. CPs get Main Entrance passes that allow them to bring up to 3 guests in 6 times during their program. You receive these passes a few weeks after you start. Keep in mind it is based on 6 entires, not how many people you bring in. So if you enter with 1 person or 3 it counts as 1 of 6. I believe you are talking about Magicbands which at this time is only available to resort guests. You would attach tickets to these bands for park entry. However at this time the Cast Main Entrance pass is not able to be attached and the guest RF cards are used at the gate. Your sister must be present to enter with you at the gate
